Masks

When we are interacting with people, we may or may not realize that we are wearing masks all the time. It makes us feel uncomfortable but seems working.

When we are talking to our parents, we are wearing a mask with the word “child” on it.

When we are talking to our kids, bosses, friends, strangers, we have different words on our masks.

Maybe because we are so used to wearing it, we almost forgot our true self, which may be curling up in a tiny corner inside our heart crying to be freed.

When can you let your true self out? When you are singing in the shower. When you are dancing in the kitchen. When you are crying or laughing watching a movie. When you are alone.

However, being our true self does not mean we have to be alone. Try to drop the mask, and let our true self interact with people. Whoever wants to be closer with our true self, let them in. Whoever does not feel comfortable with that, let them out. Eventually, we will form a comfortable community with similar values to us and relationships are easier and healthier.
